Founder Bio
We are a community of change-makers grounded in shared responsibility, care, and presence — because better futures are built together..
Eric “Jazz” Rinehart is a Hampton Roads native, U.S. Air Force veteran, entrepreneur, author, patent holder, and community mentor whose work spans technology, business operations, and human-centered leadership.
His entrepreneurial journey began with two turntables and a vision. As the founder of Jazz Café Sounds, Jazz learned early how to read people, build trust, and grow a brand from scratch — lessons that would shape his approach to leadership, business, and community for decades to come.
Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Jazz is a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he developed discipline, leadership, and early exposure to advanced software and technical systems. His service culminated in being recognized as Manager (NCO) of the Year.
Following military service, Jazz co-founded a Silicon Valley software startup, working across strategy, sales, technical support, installations, and software analysis — a full-spectrum education in building systems from the ground up. He later served in director-level leadership roles at two community hospitals, overseeing support operations and process improvement while remaining close to people, systems, and accountability.
Over the years, Jazz has launched and led multiple ventures, including consulting firms, service-based businesses, and a craft brewery. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and an MBA, remains deeply hands-on with modern technology..
He is the author of multiple books and long-form works focused on resilience, courage, mental clarity, wealth strategy, and ethical leadership, including:
A Field Manual for Staying Human in a Brutal World
Soul Journeys for Black Women: A Guide to Healing, Resilience, and Ancestral Wisdom
People Are Scared of the Wrong Sht: Stop Paying the Fear Tax. Start Compounding Courage.
Blow That Sht Out!: A 21-Day Mission Log for Mental Clarity & Legacy
The Strategy of Wealth: Applying the Art of War to Achieve Financial Freedom and Lasting Legacy
Jazz is also the voice behind Living By The Compass, a life philosophy and leadership framework centered on purpose, presence, resilience, curiosity, and ethical decision-making.
In parallel, he is an advocate for responsible AI adoption and AI safety, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and protecting communities as artificial intelligence increasingly shapes business and daily life.
Through BE757, Jazz brings together experience, values, and systems thinking to create a platform rooted in relationships, access, and intentional collaboration — designed to support Black-owned businesses and community leaders building something that lasts.
